I’ve added a plugin to the Think New Orleans weblog that I’ll probably roll into the web publishing platform. It is called Subscribe to Comments and it installs easily, however the manage subscriptions link for logged in and registered users points to a page that says 404 not found.

MySQL Data Dictionary
Found the MySQL data dictionary in a database called information_schema. There is a table there named Tables. Using the fields TABLE_NAME and UPDATE_TIME you can select the most recent changes to the database.
This could be used as part of the caching expiration mechanism of Syndibase.

Syndibase Permissions
Notes for the end of the day on Syndibase and it’s recovery from the nether reaches.
The next thing to add is a user system that has some level of permissions. Rather than let this get too complicated, I’m simply going to make the levels rather simple.
- Administrator.
- Contributor.
- Visitor.
The circle concept begs that people within a circle have abilities greater than those of a person outside a circle. Thus, a person in a circle may be able to do things, like post, or vote, while people outside can only read.
There may be somethings that are visible only to people within the circle, as well.
- Administrator.
- Member.
- Outsider.
But, I don’t have circles implemented as of yet. So I won’t worry about it as of yet.

Gathering Syndibase
I’m gathering my older posts on Syndibase. There is one that describes the basics, the division of major objects in Syndibase. There was also a description of a ThinkNOLA URL structure. Then there is an article on RSS 2.0 Imports.
This is an article on how I was generating JavaScript. There is an article on the layout of the repository.
My gecoding experiences start here and end with a REST interface for Geocoding.
At that time I learned about Jello CSS layouts.
It was so long ago. Times have changed.

Using Quicksilver
Got sucked into my feed reader accedentally and came across an article about the Top 10 free and cheap productivity tools at Lifehacker. Quicksilver is one that I’ve installed and never much used. This is the start of an evaluation. Update: Yikes! The installation program is beautiful! The hot key combination to launch Quicksilver colides with the hot key combination to perform name completion in Eclipse. That’s a problem.

Earthlink Wifi In Anahiem
The new Wifi network is [out and about in Anaheim]. A wire cutting ceremony rolled in the new event. Although, the prospect of free Wifi for New Orleans is exciting, I’m wondering where I can find a T1 to shorten hours long Flickr uploads. Should I find such bliss, I’m keeping my spare Ethernet cable with me at all times.
